Designed to protect electrical devices in the event of temperature rise or overheating, our range of organic compound, axial lead fuses are rated at 15A 250Vac and are suitable for a wide range of different appliances as a replacement for a failed fuse or for new designs and installations and are usually found in heat producing electrical appliances such as coffeemakers, hair dryers, hair straighteners and curlers. A thermal fuse is a safety device which uses a organic compound compressing a spring, which allows the fuse to “blow” and complete the circuit in the event of over heating. Once a thermal fuse has blown then it will need to be replaced. A thermal fuse is most useful when the overheating is a result of an unexpected incident requiring a repair, however, just like a domestic fuse, other reasons can cause a failure, such as overheating inside the appliance, and replacing the fuse will allow the appliance to be repaired and used again.
